After each race, NASCAR selects cars at random to tear-down and fully inspect. After Richmond, the cars of Alex Bowman and William Byron were taken to the NASCAR R&D Center.
On Thursday, NASCAR announced penalties from Richmond Raceway. Both cars that were taken to the R&D Center have been issued a penalty.
Since the penalty announcement, Hendrick Motorsports issued the following statement, “We are reviewing the penalties issued today by NASCAR and will determine next steps following Sunday’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway.”
