Watch the video as Ross Chastain turned Brennan Poole at Dover Motor Speedway; Kyle Larson mad after being collected
On Monday, the NASCAR Cup Series took the green flag in Dover, Delaware. Following a rainout, the 1-mile of Dover Motor Speedway is hosting the Wurth 400 in a rare Monday afternoon race.

Brennan Poole was making his first NASCAR Cup Series start since 2020. And it ended on the hook of the tow truck.
On lap 81, Brennan Poole and Austin Dillon ran side by side into turn one. Ross Chastain was right behind both of them.
As Poole checked up for the corner, Ross Chastain got into the back of him. It turned Poole into the outside wall.
“He was in the way. But, you can’t just get into the back of him and wreck him like that,” Clint Bowyer stated from the Fox broadcast booth.
Kyle Larson was the fastest car on the track at the time and charging to the front. However, Larson was collected as Poole bounced off the wall. The No. 5 team collected heavy right front damage.
“Flat out wrecked him. We’re in the first stage,” Kyle Larson stated via the team radio.
Larson first went to the pit lane for repairs. The damage was too extensive and he pulled to the garage.
The No. 5 returned to track multiple laps down. Late in the race as Chastain was battling for the win, Larson threw big blocks on Chastain, holding him up and letting the leader open the gap.

“I did not mean to do that,” Ross Chastain stated over the team radio.
Alex Bowman chirps Chastain
Alex Bowman is sidelined from today’s race following a sprint car crash. However, he’s watching the race and had a comment on the incident with Chastain which involved Bowman’s teammate Larson.
Bowman tweeted, “5 was a rocket, 1 doing 1 things. Gosh I’m sure he didn’t mean to.”

Brennan Poole comments
“I’m not exactly sure, but I feel like I just got ran over,” Poole told Bob Pockrass.
“As soon as he ran into me, I got shoved into the corner way too deep. Immediately, I was turned around. I think it was the No. 1. Was it the 1?”
“Yeah, go figure. 87 laps into a race. I was side by side with the No. 3, it’s not like I can go anywhere or give him any more room.”
“He just ran me over. I think it’s kinda pathetic. It seams to be something Ross does a lot. My first time in a new Cup car. 80 laps in, out for no reason.”
“I wasn’t using a lot of brake at all. You just kinda roll out of the gas. It might have even been before I needed to roll out of the gas.”
Poole told the FOX broadcast team, “That’s something he’s been known to do here recently. Probably needs to get his butt whooped.”
Poole will be back in the field again next week.
Kyle Larson comments
“It seamed like Ross got in a hurry there,” Larson told Bob Pockrass.
“But, crashed him before we ever got to the corner. Nowhere for me to go. I just hopes our luck turns around soon.”
Larson was asked if he purposefully held up Chastain late in the race. Was it a retaliation?
“You can take it for whatever you think it might be. Just a long frustrating day for me.”
Larson added, “I would understand, in a third stage or something. To make an error like that!”
Ross Chastain comments
After the race at Dover, Chastain was quick to comment on the incident from stage one.
“I first have to say I’m so sorry to Brennan and everybody at Rick Ware Racing,” Chastain told Fox Sports after the race.
“I owe a big apology and a bit more. When I get home with Skip Barber tomorrow, I’ll head over there, talk to those guys and make some of that right.”
Chastain said of his day, “Gosh, so close for everybody on Jockey Chevy.”
