“This race has been circled on my calendar for a long time.”
On October 15, 2000, Dale Earnhardt drove to victory lane at Talladega Superspeedway. That would be his last NASCAR Cup Series win. And, he did it in the famed black No. 3 car.
This weekend, Bobby Earnhardt, the grandson of Dale Earnhardt is making his debut at Talladega Superspeedway. The No. 89 car will look familiar as it’s a throwback to the famed No. 3 livery.

Bobby Earnhardt comments
“This race has been circled on my calendar for a long time,” Bobby Earnhardt opened via the team released.
“Making my first start at Talladega is already special, but to do it with this paint scheme takes it to another level. Knowing this was the last scheme my grandpa won with, at this same track, it carries a lot of meaning for me and my family.”
The car will have sponsorship from Circle S Ranch and Ranchers Choice Net Wrap.
“John and I have been business partners for about 10 years now, and over that time, he and his family have become like family to me,” Earnhardt added.
“He’s someone who’s always had my back and has been a steady, guiding presence in my life. To have him and the Shearer family on board for my first Talladega race, especially with a car that means this much to me, it’s something I’m incredibly thankful for.”
“There’s a lot to learn, and you have to be smart all day.”
Earnhardt concluded, “But, we’ve shown we can run up front on these superspeedways, and I’m looking forward to putting ourselves in position when it matters most.”
