NASCAR playoff standings following the race weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway
The half-mile of Bristol Motor Speedway has just completed a busy race weekend. Here’s the playoff picture for the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series and Truck Series after the weekend in Tennessee.
Bristol was the last race in the opening round of the Cup Series playoffs. Four NASCAR Cup Series drivers have been eliminated from the playoffs after Bristol. Michael McDowell, Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano and Ricky Stenhouse Jr are now out of the picture.
Bubba Wallace narrowly avoided elimination, by just four points. He now sits at the bottom of the points once more as the points are reset for the round of 12.
Martin Truex Jr was on the verge of elimination following a horrible opening round. He got into the wall at Bristol but still avoided elimination. Following a great regular season, the points reset sends Truex Jr back to the top of the board.
Three races are on deck in the round of 12. After this round, four more will be eliminated from the playoff battle.
The tracks in the Round of 12 are Texas Motor Speedway, the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course and Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
