The NASCAR driver exited the car in the middle of the race at Texas Motor Speedway after losing A/C and inhaling carbon monoxide
On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series raced at Texas Motor Speedway. The race was race number one in the Round of 12 for the Playoffs.
Temperatures were 101 degrees, making it the hottest raceday in the history of Texas Motor Speedway. The track surface temp reached 140 degrees.
NASCAR drivers have an AC hose that will hook to the top of the helmet and pump cold air into the helmet area. Josh Williams lost A/C and he lifted his shield to get some air on his face.
Given the air temp, it was a bad day to feel ill inside the car. Josh Williams, driver of the No. 92 told the crew he was getting sick inside the car.
DGM Racing explained what happened, “On the last stop the 92 team found that something rubbed a hole in Josh Williams’ a/c hose, which means cool air isn’t coming in and is forcing him to run with the shield open. Will change hose on the next stop.”
In stage two, the driver said he was seeing stars and close to passing out. He elected to pull to the pit lane under caution and the team made a driver change. Stefan Parsons climbed in as a reserve driver.
Williams took a trip to the infield medical center for IVs.
DGM Racing stated, “Josh Williams has been evaluated and released from the Infield Care Center after he was forced to keep shield open on his helmet and inhaled fumes in the car.”

Josh Williams trolls the haters
After exiting the car in the middle of the race, fans began poking fun at Williams via social media. The driver trolled them right back.
@BendJmowglibend stated via X, “Tell home boy to hit the gym once and while and also to keep his hands off a HELPING nascar official. Or maybe he’s just trying to keep his thicker than a snicker ass in the headlines. @Josh6williams”
After his trip to the medical center, Williams had some free time on his hands. He elected to pick up the tiny computer and do some trolling.
Williams responded, “Hit the gym lol. home boy I could bench press 2 of you. Check yourself before you go talking smack. Must be tough to whip them RC cars lol #AlwaysAGuyNamedJosh.”
Thankfully for your entertainment, that only encouraged more fans to chime in…
@anthony_guenzel stated via twitter, “Your fatass is only bench pressing burgers to your face. You’re a puss boy bitch. Why don’t you park it again?”
The NASCAR driver wasn’t done.
Williams responded, “Haha. your a fan right? Come say hi next time you come to a race. Shoot I would even give ya a VIP pass get ya right in the garage what ya think @megcheer99 can we get this fella a VIP experience!”
