Zane Smith disqualified at Homestead-Miami Speedway

The No. 38 has been disqualified after NASCAR found a windshield violation in post-race tech inspection

On Saturday, Homestead-Miami Speedway hosted the NASCAR Truck Series. The race was the final playoff elimination race ahead of their championship race.

See the NASCAR rule book below.

Zane Smith found himself in the battle for the win throughout the day. And if you had a close eye you would have noticed the windshield was buckling at high speeds.

After the race, NASCAR has issued a DQ to Smith and the No. 38 team.

Per a NASCAR release, “The No. 38 Ford was found in violation of Section 14.4.7.I in the NASCAR Rule Book, which specifically references the windshield support. Officials indicated that the truck will be brought to the NASCAR Research & Development Center in Concord, North Carolina for further inspection.”

Teams have been penalized for windshield manipulation in the past. The idea is that it can guide air in desired locations, like the spoiler.
