Joe Gibbs leaks new driver announcement for 2024 (Video)

It appears Aric Almirola is heading to Joe Gibbs Racing

An NBC reporter posted a video of Coach Joe Gibbs attending a football game. The video was likely intended to be harmless.

However, in the video you can hear Gibbs introducing the people that came with him to the game. He introduced Christopher Bell then moved on to Aric Almirola who also joined him.

Joe Gibbs is heard saying, “Aric, he’s driving for us now.”

News that Aric Almirola is moving to Joe Gibbs Racing has not been announced. It appears the cat is out of the bag.

Almirola recently retired from full-time NASCAR Cup Series competition. He’s left the No. 10 Ford at Stewart-Haas Racing.

Toyota said that a driver who was once in the Toyota pipeline would be returning to Toyota for 2024. They didn’t mention any names.

Almirola said he was interested in driving part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series. We’ll find out shortly if that’s a part of his deal or not.

The 39-year-old has driven for Joe Gibbs Racing in the past. Between 2005-2007, Almirola raced in the Xfinity Series for JGR. However, at the time, the team ran Chevy equipment.
