On Monday morning, jet dryers were deployed, hours before the start of the race to dry a damp track. It’s standard procedure used at every track throughout the schedule.

However, it’s not standard to see two of them crash into each other. One jet dryer apparently lost traction and slid into another jet dryer.

There was a similar incident back in 2021. However, there’s no more famous jet dryer incident than when Juan Pablo Montoya crashed into a jet dryer under caution, causing an explosion. All these incidents occurred at the Daytona Beach, Florida track.

Jet dryers are equipped with 200 gallons of fuel. Fuel was seen running down the banking of Daytona.

NASCAR deployed a fire truck and safety vehicles. There were no injuries to report.

They then washed the track of jet dryer fuel ahead of today’s races.

The NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series are set to race. The Xfinity Series will take to the track at the conclusion of the Daytona 500.
