Treyten Lapcevich has been disqualified after winning at North Wilkesboro Speedway
On Saturday, the CARS Tour raced at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Treyten Lapcevich drove to the race win.

On Tuesday, two penalties have been announced. Lapcevich has been disqualified for an unapproved part.
Corey Heim has been handed the win.
Heim stated via social media, “They don’t ask how, just how many [wins].
CARS Tour Statement
CARS Tour officials issued the following statement on Tuesday:
“Following the zMAX Cars Tour presented by SoundGear Late Model Stock event at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Saturday night, officials were made aware of an unapproved part on Treyten Lapcevich’s winning Late Model Stock Car No. 77.”
“Upon further investigation with CARS Tour Technical Officials and the team’s owner, Chad Bryant, it has been verified that the unapproved part was indeed on the car throughout the event. Lapcevich’s team, Chad Bryant Racing, admitted to misinterpreting the rule as it is printed and CARS Tour Management accepted that explanation.”
“As a results, Lapcevich has been disqualified and the finishing order will be amended to show second-place, Corey Heim, receiving the first-place payout. The purse distribution for the rest of the finishing order will be adjusted accordingly.”
“Additionally, the Nelson Motorsports Late Model Stock Car No. 22, driven by Connor Hall, has been penalized one (1) lap at the conclusion of the event for using a tire that was not impounded for the event as described in the Penalties section of the Rule Book.”

Treyten Lapcevich Statement
The driver has a slightly different view from CARS Tour officials:
“The news today has obviously come as a shock and surprise which we never would have expected. I will say, we plan to fight this one out until the end,” Lapcevich opened.
“On Saturday, the tech director shook our hands and congratulated us, and on Monday we received a call stating the potential of our disqualification due to something another competitor raised a concern about.”
“I’m at the shop every single day working alongside these guys, and I know what has gone into this. The press release reads as though we misinterpreted the rules, but I will assure everyone that that is a lie.”
He later added, “Our car left the track in our trailer with no parts being confiscated!”
“The car didn’t break the rules, and that will come out in due time.”
