On Sunday, Austin Dillon was passed by Joey Logano on a restart in NASCAR Overtime at Richmond Raceway. And after taking the white flag, all hell broke loose.
Heading into turn three for the final time, Dillon skipped the brake pedal and drove into the bumper of Joey Logano. The race leader spun into the wall.
Denny Hamlin then worked under Dillon off turn four. The No. 3 driver turned left and wrecked him too and Dillon bulldozed his way to victory lane.

Joey Logano makes crowd of people jump out of the way on pit road
Logano was heated, rightly so. And after getting crashed, he drove his mangled machine in a hurry to get back to the pit lane.
With a line of cars heading down the pits, he skipped the line and drove right to the No. 3 team. A crowd of people were standing in the middle of the pit lane, waiting to cross the infield and meet the race winner.
In that crowd, Austin Dillon’s wife was holding a baby. But that wasn’t the only baby on the scene as another baby, likely of a crew member was also in the crowd.
Logano drove right at the crowd, forcing them and NASCAR officials to jump out of the way. He came to stop as they moved.
Logano then stepped on the throttle and pulled a burnout in frustration. He didn’t get far as another NASCAR official walked right at Logano’s car, pointing aggressively.
The official forced Logano to park. After he did, that official leaned in the driver’s window and screamed at Logano.

NASCAR comments on Joey Logano’s pit road antics
NASCAR’s Elton Sawyer was asked about the pit lane scene directly.
“We don’t want to make a split second decision and get it wrong. We’ll look at everything that happened on the last lap and post-race. And see if any penalties need to be issued,” Sawyer stated of Logano’s burnout.
After reviewing the video, NASCAR won’t like seeing a car drive toward a crowd of people.
In 2021, Kyle Busch was heated after a crash at Darlington Raceway. He drove quickly through the infield entry on the pit lane, near where people walking. He was fined $50,000.
