NASCAR penalized him for missing obligations; Appeal heard

Ty Majeski missed media day and instead participated in the US election

Back on November 5, NASCAR issued a penalty to Ty Majeski. He was fined for missing media day, the same day as the election in the United States.

Majeski stated that was voted on election day in his home state of Wisconsin.

NASCAR put him in violation of sections 4.4.A (Member Code of Conduct). The driver was fined $12,500.

Days later, Majeski went on to win the 2024 NASCAR Truck Series championship. The driver then elected to appeal the penalty.

Appeal Ruling

Upon hearing the testimony, the decisions of the National Motorsports Appeals Panel are:

– That the Appellant violated the Rule(s) set forth in the Penalty Notice.

– That the Panel affirms and upholds the original Penalty assessed by NASCAR.

In reaching the above decision, the panel provided the following explanation: “Driver failed to meet contractual agreement with NASCAR. One of the most, if not most, important media obligations of the entire season.”

The Appeals Panel members for this hearing:

– Mr. Hunter Nickell

– Ms. Cathy Rice

– Mr. Lake Speed

Majeski still has the option to send a final appeal to the National Motorsports Final Appeals Officer.
