Watch as the NHRA driver calls out the FOX promotion
It’s the week on the Indy 500. INDYCAR is set for their biggest race of the season at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
FOX has the TV rights from INDYCAR this season. And, ahead of the season, they were promoting it heavily.
The Indycar advertisements ended with the words, “Fastest Racing on Earth” blinking across the screen.
And, that has ruffled feathers on the NHRA drag racing side of the Motorsports ladder. This year, Brittany Force set an drag racing record with a speed of 341.59mph.
This year’s pole position for the Indy 500 was set at 232.790. That is an average lap speed of a four lap run (10 miles).

Bob Tasca III comments on the Indycar ad
“So, I should be talking about that run right now,” Bob Tasca III told Fox Sports after an run early in the season
“Really, for me, I gotta call Fox Sports. All winter long, we heard about the fastest Motorsports on the planet.”
“I was a little confused because I didn’t see that PPG Mustang when I saw that ad. Truth is, it’s an insult to our fans and to the drivers for FOX to go on TV and say the fastest motorsports in the world and it’s INDYCAR?”
“Come on now. I didn’t think there was Fake News Network on FOX.”

He later added…
The driver and car owner stated from the media center, “On record to all my Indycar friends out there, the truth is, I have the utmost respect for what they do. Their sport, their fans.”
“My emotion was on the fact that the promotion is singling out that their the fastest motorsports on the planet. And that is factually wrong.”
“Which not only pissed me off, it pissed off a lot of NHRA fans and drivers. And we are the fastest motorsport on the planet.”
“Although, I did get some call outs from our Bonneville salf flat folks. And, maybe I have to preface that we are the fastest side by side motorsport on the planet.”
If we were to get into the weeds, Indycar is the fastest form of oval racing on earth. Though, maybe that phrase loses some of the impact.
“I did think FOX wasn’t tastefully done at all with how they pitched the ad. And I was just told that it actually played on our show tonight, saying that they’re the fastest motorsport.”
“So, you wanna talk about embarassment. They can keep embarrassing themselves if they’d like. But the hard reality is, we are the fastest motorsport and I’m very proud to be able to say that.”
