Indianapolis 500 starting positions and TV schedule for this weekend’s Indycar race

This weekend, the NTT Indycar Series is set for their biggest race of the season. The 2.5-mile oval of Indianapolis Motor Speedway will host the famed Indy 500.

The 500-mile race is scheduled for this Sunday, May 25th, 2025. A crowd of 350,000 fans are expected to be in attendance as the grandstands are sold out.
Kyle Larson is set for 1,100 miles of racing in one day. He’s set to run Indycar’s Indy 500 in Indianapolis, Indiana as well as NASCAR’s Coke 600 in Concord, NC, in the same day.
The field will line up in rows of three ahead of the green flag. Rookie driver Robert Shwartzman grabbed the pole position in qualifying last week with a 4-lap average speed of 232.790. Pato O’Ward and Takuma Sato complete the front row.
Defending race winner Josef Newgarden and his teammate Will Power have been relegated to the last row on the grid. Both the Team Penske cars failed pre-qualifying technical inspection and they were penalized for the violation.
