It’s the opening night of the Dirt Late Model Dream in Rossburg, Ohio. The half-mile of Eldora Speedway welcomes the first half of the entry list in Thursday’s preliminary action.

This race was originally scheduled for Thursday night but the rain came just ahead of the main event. It’s now a makeup feature taking place directly after Friday night’s regularly scheduled main event.

Wil Herrington and Carson Ferguson set the front row. 50 laps of dirt racing are up next…

Main Event
(Thursday Makeup)

Once again, weather is in the area.

Green flag, Herrington spins the tires and Ferguson leads off turn two. Spin behind them and it will be a complete restart.

Green, Herrington slides Ferguson into turn one. Ferguson jumps the cushion and barrel rolls across the track! Chris Simpson drives into the side of Ferguson while he’s upside down. The red flag is out. Ferguson climbs out on his own.

Green, Herrington leads as they run three wide for 2nd. Tyler Erb takes 2nd away.

41 to go, Herrington jumps the cushion in turn four. As he gathers it up, Tyler Erb takes the lead away.

31 to go, Tyler Erb rubs fenders with lap traffic. Josh Rice is closing.

26 to go, Erb makes more contact with lap traffic.

20 to go

20 to go, Tyler b jumps the cushion in turn one. He brushes the wall. Josh Rice takes the lead.

19 to go, Bobby Pierce slides Rice for the lead. Rice crosses under him to reclaim the lead.

18 to go, Pierce slides Rice once more into turn three. They race through heavy lap traffic. Pierce holds the lead.

11 to go, Rice slides Pierce for the lead. Pierce attempts to slide him back but he can’t clear him.

10 to go, Hudson O’Neal is in the wall, caution.

Green, Herrington is upside down in turn one after contact with Jimmy Owens. The red flag is out but he drives away.

Green, Rice leads as Erb slides Pierce for 2nd into turn three.

6 to go, Rice opens the gap and he leads Erb by 3 seconds.

3 to go, Rice has caught the tail of the field. But he now leads by 4 seconds.
