Attracted by an event purse over $1M, dirt sprint car drivers from across the world are rolling into Knoxville, Iowa. The half-mile dirt track of Knoxville Raceway is set for the 64th running of the famed Knoxville Nationals.

Knoxville Nationals Format
Order of Events (Wednesday & Thursday): Hot laps, Qualifications, 5 Heats, C Main, B Main, 25 lap A Main.
The field has been split into two groups for Wednesday and Thursday. Each group will have their own main event.
Points are awards for qualifying (200 points for quick time, 198 for 2nd, 196 for 3rd).
The heat races are inverted by 8. Heat race winners earn 100 points, with minus three for each position (2nd gets 97).
Only the top four finishers go to A Main, fifth through eighth go to the B Main, finishing positions 9-10 go to the C Main.
The top 4 finishers in C main advance to the tail of the B Main. Then, the top 4 finishers of the B Main advance to the tail of the A Main.
The top 16 in combined points from Wednesday and Thursday are locked in to Saturday’s Knoxville Nationals A Main.
Order of Events (Friday): Hot Laps, Time Trials, 6 Heats, C Main (10 Laps) , B Main 1 (12 Laps), B Main 2 (12 Laps), A Main (25 Laps)
Only 16 combined drivers qualifying directly into Saturday’s Knoxville Nationals from points earned on Wednesday and Thursday. For everyone else, they’ll race on Friday night.
The top 3 from each heat race advance into Friday’s main event. 4-9th are sent to the two B mains while finishers 10th on to the C Main.
In the C Main, the top 12 transfer to the B Mains. In the B Mains, the top 3 transfer into Friday’s A Main but they’ll be sorted based on their heat race finishing positions.
Only the top 4 in Friday’s A Main will advance into the Knoxville Nationals. They’ll start in positions 21-24 for Saturday’s A Main.
Order of Events (Saturday): E Main (10 Laps), D Main (12 Laps), C Main (15 Laps), B Main (22 Laps), A Main (50 Laps)
The top four finishers of the B, C, D, and E Mains will transfer to the next event. For the top 4 in the B Main, they will advance into the A Main, starting in positions 17-20.
Saturday’s A Main is 50 laps and the winner will earn $195,000.
