Reportedly the parents of Denny Hamlin lived in the home

A fire was reported in Gaston County in North Carolina.

The fire engulfed a house on Blacksnake Road. The fire took place around 6:00pm ET.

According to filings, the home is owned by a company linked to NASCAR Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin. Additional searches reveal that his parents live in the home.

The Lucia-Riverbend Fire Department responded to the scene. The public was told to avoid the area.

The fire investigation is underway and will continue through Monday.

Update: David Toomey of the Lucia-Riverbend Fire Department confirmed the home belongs to the parents of NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin.

It took several hours to extinguish the fire.

“This house was about 40-45% involved when we got here,” David Toomey of the Lucia-Riverbend Fire Department stated.

He added, “Of course where we are located there are no hydrants, so all the water had to be trucked in and there were times we would run out of water and we had to wait for more water to get here. We had to call for more, additional tankers throughout the county.”

Two people were outside the home when fire crews arrived. They have been taken to the hospital.

Their condition remains unknown.

Hamlin is the driver of the No. 11 for Joe Gibbs Racing. He’s also the co-owner of 23XI Racing, a NASCAR Cup Series team.

23XI Racing recently settled a lawsuit against NASCAR. In the settlement, the teams will have all their charters returned after a lengthy court battle. Those same charters are now permanent for all teams.
