Photos show Chris Gabehart eating lunch with Spire Motorsports co-owner in December
Joe Gibbs Racing is currently suing Chris Gabehart and Spire Motorsports. The team is claiming that Gabehart stole information while working for JGR before taking a role with Spire Motorsports.
Gabehart was the competition director for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025. He claims he asked to leave the team after disagreements with him also working as the crew chief for Ty Gibbs.

Gabehart then reportedly found a role with Spire Motorsports. However, to date, no announcement has been made.
Now, things have taken an unexpected turn in court. Joe Gibbs Racing hired a private investigator to follow Gabehart.
The PI witnessed Gabehart have lunch with Spire Motorsports owner Jeff Dickerson. This was first reported by Matt Weaver.
“On December 2, 2025, I witnessed Gabehart drive his vehicle to the Spire Motorsports facility at 11:54 AM. At 12:02 PM, Spire owner Jeff Dickerson entered Gabehart’s vehicle. Below is a still photograph from video captured of Dickerson entering Gabehart’s vehicle.”
“Gabehart then drove to a nearby restaurant, which they entered at 12:22 PM. From 12:22 PM to 1:47 PM, Gabehart and Dickerson remained together at the restaurant. Below is a still photograph from video captured of Gabehart and Dickerson sitting together at the restaurant.”
“Gabehart and Dickerson departed the restaurant at 1 :47 PM and arrived back at Spire’s facility at 2:00 PM. Below is a still photograph from video captured of Dickerson departing Gabehart’s vehicle.”

Carson Hocevar is a driver in the NASCAR Cup Series for Spire Motorsports. He added his take on the news above.
