With two wins, he leads the standings despite running only three of the first five races in 2026
Corey Heim is currently racing part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series as well as the NASCAR Truck Series. He’s only run three of the five races so far.
The 23-year-old has won two of those three races. He picked up back-to-back wins at Darlington Raceway and most recently at Rockingham Speedway. His other start in Atlanta resulted in a 5th place finish.
At the finish line, Chandler Smith was the point leader. However, after post-race inspection, NASCAR issued a Disqualification to Smith. This has handed the point lead to Heim, despite missing two of the five races so far.

It appears this has never happened before. A driver has never led the standings despite missing multiple races.
Back in 2007, Mark Martin led the Truck standings after the first few races of the season while racing for Ginn Racing. However, he lost the lead once he missed his first race.
Before 2011, drivers were eligible to earn points across multiple divisions. Since then, drivers must declare which series they intend to earn points in.
Heim also drives for 23XI Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series but only on a part-time basis.
