Chris Gabehart was the former competition director at Joe Gibbs Racing. Last season, he abruptly left the team for Spire Motorsports.
Joe Gibbs Racing has since opened a lawsuit. The team is claiming that Gabehart stole information from JGR and gave it to Spire with his new role.
The courts recently issued a restraining order. Gabehart is not allowed to work in a similar role he had with JGR at Spire, while the case is ongoing.
Jeff Dickerson is the co-owner of Spire Motorsports. He’s not sure why his team is even a defendant in the lawsuit.
Spire Motorsports recently went to victory lane as Carson Hocevar picked up his first career win. However, Spire ties their performance to an alliance with Hendrick Motorsports over an alleged theft of information.

Jeff Dickerson comments
“I will say that it is tough sitting in court, and being called a liar, and a thief, and a cheater,” Jeff Dickerson stated via Jeff Gluck’s Gluckcast.
“And every time the Judge has asked for any evidence, they have produced nothing. Nothing. And that’s not my opinion, there [are] media people and observers there that have witnessed the same thing. So, that part is tough.”
“You know, even Monday, they filed something after the win [Talladega], and essentially were linking it back to Chris. And I’ll tell you what upsets me: not only is Chris not in that role, but they’re minimizing what happens here,” Dickerson added.
“They’re minimizing the 175 people here. Like, we couldn’t win without them, right? And I don’t even just mean like without Chris, they’re implying that we can’t win without JGR data.”
The court case is ongoing.

Denny Hamlin is the driver of the No. 11 for Joe Gibbs Racing. He reacted to the comments above:
“Yeah, okay buddy. You hired someone who stole tens of millions worth of information, lied about communications y’all had after you deleted them and now is getting paid double to work on your truck program? GTFO,” Hamlin stated via X.
Gabehart was also the former crew chief for Denny Hamlin.
