World of Outlaws point leader penalized
David Gravel is the current points leader of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. He’s won 5 of 21 races so far this season.
On Wednesday, Big Game Motorsports, who fields the No. 2 car driven by Gravel has issued a penalty. The team was found in violation of the Championship Platinum Membership Agreement.
Per the announcement:
“The team failed to meet the obligations of a mandatory appearance on Thursday, May 7, as outlined in the agreement, with the team and car not in attendance, and has been fined $2,000 for the violation.”
“Obligations of Team Owner and Driver, Section 3, Item (d)- cooperate by attending other Series sponsor events/appearances, meet and greets, television and internet/interactive features and other appearances from time to time whenever reasonably possible.”
This weekend, Gravel and the World of Outlaws are racing at Jacksonville Speedway, Knoxville Raceway and Huset’s Speedway.
