Jesse Love is heading to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2027

Wood Brothers Racing signs with Jesse Love

Jesse Love currently races full-time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series. He drives the No. 2 car for Richard Childress Racing.

The 21-year-old has run 83 O’Reilly Series events. He’s picked up three race wins and he won the 2025 championship.

Today, Wood Brothers Racing has announced that Love will drive their NASCAR Cup Series entry full-time in 2027. The team fields the No. 21 entry.

Earlier this week, Josh Berry announced that he would not be returning to Wood Brothers Racing for the 2027 season. Berry has yet to find a ride for next year.

Jesse Love comments

“Driving the No. 21 for Wood Brothers Racing is truly an honor,” Jesse Love stated via the team release.

“This team has played such an important role in NASCAR history, and the drivers who have sat behind the wheel of this car are some of the greatest our sport has ever seen. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone at Wood Brothers Racing, Team Penske and Ford Racing for believing in me.”

“I’m excited to get to work, continue learning from the people around me and compete at the highest level.”

Jon Wood comments

“Jesse has accomplished a lot at a young age,” said Jon Wood, president of Wood Brothers Racing.

“He’s demonstrated the ability to win races, compete for championships and handle the expectations that come with racing at a high level. We’re looking forward to giving him the opportunity to take the next step in his career with the No. 21 team.”

Love has run seven NASCAR Cup Series races to date. He has a best-finish of 24th at Indianapolis with Beard Motorsports.
