NASCAR has issued penalties ahead of the race at Richmond Raceway
Tomorrow night, the NASCAR Cup Series takes on Richmond Raceway. Before cars are allowed on the track, they must clear NASCAR inspection to ensure technical compliance with the rule book.
The cars of Christopher Bell and Cody Ware each failed inspection twice. They have both been issued a penalty.
Car chiefs have been ejected from both teams. They’ll also lose pit selection.
Both teams were able to pass inspection on their third attempt and avoid further penalties.
NASCAR Cup Series practice is currently underway. Qualifying will take place directly after the conclusion of practice.
NASCAR Inspection Penalties
Pre-Qualifying
The following includes various levels of inspection penalties:
1 Failure
No Penalty
2 Failures
Crew member of NASCAR’s choosing ejected. Additionally, the team loses pit selection.
3 Failures
Not permitted to qualify plus above penalty. They also have to serve a pass-through penalty at the start of the race.
