The Clash is back at Daytona but NASCAR says it might not stay

Daytona International Speedway exhibition race could be moved again

The Clash was born at Daytona International Speedway with its debut in 1979. It remained there until the 2022 edition of the event.

2022-2024, the event was run at the LA Coliseum. In 2025 and 2026, the event was run at Bowman Gray Stadium.

For 2027, the event is moving back home to Florida, where the fans wanted it. But, NASCAR is hinting that it might not stay there.

Today, Ben Kennedy hosted a media session. He said that NASCAR heard fans say they wanted to see the race back at Daytona for a year. They listened, but he also suggested the return might only be temporary.

Naval Base Coronado

It was announced yesterday that NASCAR would return to San Diego in 2027. However, they are exploring new venues for 2028.

As of now, the event is likely to remain on a military base. NASCAR has provided the Department of War a list of areas they would like to race.

NASCAR will now visit various military bases to explore the possibility of a new location for 2028.

Far into the future, the next media rights agreement is scheduled for 2032. Kennedy added that he expects a major scheduled shift for that season.
