Chase Elliott has won NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver award for the last 7 seasons
Voting has opened for the 2026 National Motorsports Press Association Most Popular Driver Award.
Bill Elliott holds the record for the most awards at 16. He won it in 1984-88, 1991-2000 and 2002.
Bill famously pulled himself from the ballot in 2001. That was the year that we lost Dale Earnhardt.
Chase Elliott has won the award in the past 7 seasons. He has just removed himself from the ballet for this year’s running.
Earlier this year, NASCAR lost Kyle Busch.
Voting remains open until Nov. 9, 2026 at noon ET. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 10 during the annual NASCAR Awards Ceremonies in Miami, Florida.
