Tonight, it’s the finale of the Prairie Dirt Classic. The 1/4-mile bullring of Fairbury Speedway is set to pay $50,000 to win for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series.

Fairbury
Main Event – Report

Green flag, Pierce leads on the bottom through turn one. The top five form single file around the bottom early. Ryan Gustin takes 2nd.

Lap 5, Shannon Babb is knocking the cushion in 4th and coming to the front.

Lap 8, Babb to the bottom on Gustin. Babb takes 2nd away and moves right back to the top.

Lap 10, Mike Spatola has a flat left rear and the caution is out.

Green, Pierce leads as Babb slides Gustin for 2nd. Larson takes them 3 wide for 4th.

Lap 15, Chris Simpson slows and the caution is out.

Green, Pierce leads as Babb and Gustin run side by side in turn one. Gustin pinches down on Babb into turn three. Babb nearly spins, Gustin to 2nd. Davenport and Larson work by Babb as he collects it.

Lap 24, Larson pulls even with Davenport, he clears him off the corner to take 3rd.

Lap 27, Boom Briggs slows and the caution is out. Hudson O’Neal also hits the pit lane.

Green, Pierce leads into turn one but Larson sticks his nose to the inside. Larson pulls even in turn three but Pierce wins the race off turn four on the outside.

Lap 29, Larson slides Pierce for the lead. Pierce crosses under him. Larson slides him back, Pierce crosses once more.

Larson slides Pierce. Pierce crosses under him and slides him in turn one. They make contact as Larson was already heading for the bottom as Pierce blew by on the inside. Pierce has lost the right rear quarter panel following the contact. Larson drives by once more, clear.

Lap 31, caution.

Green, Larson leads as Pierce holds 2nd.

Lap 50

Lap 50, Pierce is all over Stormy Scott for 2nd. Scott runs the middle as Pierce knocked the cushion.

Lap 54, Pierce is on the gas early in turn one. He pulls even and squeezes between Scott and the wall. Pierce returns to 2nd. Larson leads by 2 seconds.

30 to go, Larson leads Pierce by 3.5 seconds.

22 to go, Tyler Bruening slows and the caution is out. Weiss and others hit the pit lane.

Green, Larson leads. Pierce and Babb run side by side for 2nd.

17 to go, Pierce is knocking the cushion and closing on Larson. Larson is glued to the bottom.

14 to go, Larson to the cushion. He opens the gap to Pierce.

9 to go, Larson takes the lap cars three wide through the middle. Larson brushes the wall off turn two. Sparks fly and Pierce closes.

Pierce looks to slide Larson but he’s hit a lap car road block. Larson open the gap to 6 car lengths.

5 to go, Larson and Pierce race through lap traffic.

3 to go, Larson leads but Pierce has closed to just four car lengths.

Kyle Larson holds him off and takes the win at Fairbury Speedway!
