Who will fill in for Tony Stewart beginning in the 2017 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Season? Multiple sources have confirmed that Clint Bowyer has been selected to take over the #14 car in 2017.

Clint Bowyer, recently released from contract to Michael Waltrip Racing has been in search of a new home. Michael Waltrip Racing closes it’s doors at the end of this season and Tony Stewart isn’t climbing out until 2017. There’s a gap. It’s again rumored that HScott Motorsports is to provide a temporary home for Clint Bowyer as he awaits his place at Stewart-Haas Racing.

The Tony Stewart retirement is expected to be a retirement from full time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series action. Much like the announcement from Jeff Gordon earlier this season. Stewart will likely return for several one of events in seasons beyond 2016.

On Sunday, Public relations representatives of Tony Stewart declined an opportunity to comment. Now we all wait for official announcement from Stewart-Haas Racing.
