After wrecking each other for the win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. There’s likely a rivalry brewing. That’s great for the sport but possibly confusion from the team perspective.
Following the on-track incident, the crew met on pit road. Words were exchanged as well as some finger pointing. Joe Gibbs Racing supplies over the wall crew members for both teams. They opted to suspend several members of Martin Truex Jr’s crew.
Martin Truex Jr, “I don’t know how he’s going so fast. My car won’t go as fast as his. We gotta do some work on it.”
He talked about the alliance, “Our teams are working together well, on the things we work together on. It’s just been fun to be fast.”
“We just gotta make sure we keep looking for more stuff. Keep working hard to stay where we’re at.”
How about a win today? Martin Truex Jr, “It would be awesome to have a win at both road courses on the circuit. I watched my dad race here as a kid. It would be nice to get that first win here.”
Kyle Busch starts from the pole in just moments. Martin Truex Jr will line up on his bumper, in 3rd.
