Bubba Wallace 2018 paint scheme: STP

2018 Richard Petty Motorsports STP paint scheme

STP will be back onboard the Richard Petty Motorsports #43 machine for the 2018 season. They will share the role of primary sponsor in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

Bubba Wallace was signed to Richard Petty Motorsports as the new full-time driver of the #43. Regarding the new car, Wallace helped design the new STP wrap for the Chevrolet Camaro.

“A little bit of inspiration came from Chase Elliott’s scheme this year, Bubba Wallace explains. “I think it was his Hooters scheme. The edginess, the lines, the design of that. With our colors, the day glow just really makes it pop.”

“I’m pretty excited about it. The silver accents just give another little effect to it.”

It’s his 3rd photoshoot in the last week. During the LIVE photoshoot, Bubba Wallace took some questions from fans:

Which driver did you look up to most?

“Well, I’m obligated to say Richard Petty,” Bubba Wallace says with a laugh during the STP photoshoot. “Honestly, I didn’t really start paying attention until 2011-12. The the obvious guys are Jimmie Johnson, I looked up to him.”

“I don’t really have favorites. But, I have a lot of mentors now.”

What’s the hottest it’s been in the car?

“135, just sitting on pit road at Indy.”

What makes you so good at Martinsville?

“Honestly, I don’t know. It’s one of those short tracks that I just fell in love with right away. 500 laps, it’s going to be tough.”

You already said Dover is your favorite track. But why?

“There’s no place like it. The banking, the roller coaster effect into turn 1. At lot of factors go into it. It’s just so fast.”

“If you ever get the chance to get into the infield, go stand in turn 1. Watch the car break loose.

Are you happy with the Camaro?

“We’ll find out here in a couple weeks when we go to Vegas.”

On a scale of 1-10, how excited are you for this year?

“A 25.”
