Danica Patrick is forever pursuing a single yoga pose

After years of yoga, Danica Patrick is still seeking completion of a single pose

Danica Patrick has a unique training technique as she preps for her final race. The yoga enthusiast uses the program as a training tool.

Patrick has her own fitness book on the shelves. She’s been into yoga, for years. However, there’s still one pose she can’t master.

“I’m forever in pursuit of kapotasana, which is basically like camel pose where you grab your heels in a backbend,” Patrick recently told For The Win.

“It’s like a super, super tight backbend, and you have to have good shoulder flexibility and be able to open your chest up, because you grab your heels basically with your head on the ground in a backbend while your knees are on the ground, which is just a super deep backbend.”

“So I’ll probably be in pursuit of that for most of my life.”

The photo below is essentially the pose, or close to it. However, using the tube doesn’t count. It’s close but she’s still in pursuit of what it otherwise known as the ‘Pigeon Pose’.

That photo was posted to Danica Patrick’s instagram in October 2016.

Danica Patrick is entering a new chapter of her racing career. Actually, she’s returning the roots.

With the NASCAR career behind her, Danica Patrick has one last drive ahead. She will enter the 2018 Indy 500 with Ed Carpenter Racing.

Below is a photo showing a completed version of the kapotasana yoga pose. The photos is from the Yoga Journal.
