Brandon Overton and Randy Weaver Racing parted ways after Eldora
Following Volunteer Speedway on June 2nd, Brandon Overton was 9th in World of Outlaws Late Model Series standings. He ran all twelve races to that point.
On June 14, The national late model tour headed to Stateline Speedway in Jamestown, NY after a two week break in the schedule. However, he was absent from the field on Thursday. Missing his first race of the season. He then missed the next night at Ransomville Speedway as well.
The Dream
On the first night of the Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway, Brandon Overton was involved in an accident. Billy Moyer hit a hole and bounced up the banking. Overton was hard on the gas around the top. Moyer slowed and ran into the side of Overton, putting him in the wall.
Overton stated in an interview after the incident that he would pull out the backup car and be ready for the second round at Eldora. That backup was never unloaded and Brandon Overton left the speedway.
Following the Dirt Late Model Dream, Brandon Overton and Randy Weaver Racing have parted ways. Brandon Overton was unable to locate a new ride between the Dirt Late Model Dream and the Stateline Speedway WoO event on June 14th. As a result, he has dropped off the tour.
After 12 WoOLMS races in 2018, Brandon Overton collected $19,810 in race earnings. The team collected 5 top-10’s and a single top-5 result.
The team has had a rough luck with equipment since speedweeks. Several mechanical failures and incidents put the team to 1 car back in February and they used up all their motors, in the first few weeks of the season.
