Alex Bowman vs Bubba Wallace on the ROVAL at Charlotte Motor Speedway
The NASCAR Cup Series returned to the ROVAL at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday. Alex Bowman had a hell of a day.

First Bowman was scheduled to start on the outside pole position after his 2nd place qualifying effort. However, Bowman tagged the wall with 30 seconds remaining in the final practice round.
Bowman was forced to forfeit his starting position as the crew went to work on the backup car. Instead of starting on the front row, Bowman would start on the last row.
Lap 1, Alex Bowman had a run on Austin Dillon into the back stretch chicane. However, a chain reaction caused an earlier braking point than he was expecting.
Bowman got into the right rear of Dillon heading into the corner. He tangled with the same car he did last week at Richmond. But, his day was far from over.

Lap 40, Alex Bowman was all over the bumper of Bubba Wallace. They were racing hard.
Wallace stuck his middle finger out the window, multiple times. That only further aggravated Bowman.
“If he doesn’t put that finger away, he’s going to get one,” Bowman radio.
Lap 42, Bowman was true to his word. He locked onto the rear bumper of Wallace as they rolled through the back stretch chicane. Wallace got loose and chased the car.
Bowman worked to the outside of Wallace as they exited the chicane. They went onto the banking of NASCAR turn three with Bowman on his right rear.
Bowman than cut to the left and tagged Wallace in the right rear. Wallace was turned around and into the wall.

After the race
Alex Bowman climbed through the field. A late race pit stop gave him fresher tires than most of the leaders. Bowman drove all the way to 2nd.
With 3 to go, Bowman was tied with Ryan Newman for the final transfer spot. The second place result and issues for Newman put Bowman into the Round of 12. He advances into the next round of the NASCAR Playoffs.
Alex Bowman didn’t feel well when he climbed into the car at the start of the day. To make matters worse, it was brutally hot for the duration of a long race.
After the race, Alex Bowman climbed from his car. He sat exhausted on the ground, against the door of the No. 88 car. The NASCAR medical team was there as well.
As he did that, Bubba Wallace came over to have a talk about the on track contact earlier. Wallace then threw liquid right in his face to help him cool down before walking away.
Alex Bowman was put on a medical golf cart and taken to the infield care center.
