Wife of Kyle Larson dresses to impress; Shotguns beer at the same time
On Thursday night, NASCAR visited Nashville, Tennessee for the season-ending banquet.
The millionaire drivers entered Music City Center sporting bow ties with their wives in tow. It’s a fancy establishment with dresses more than to your latest car payment.
Personally, that’s why I skip these things. I’ve tried it, fancy isn’t for me.
But, some people can play both roles, simultaneously. Such was the case for Katelyn Larson, who grew up at the dirt tracks and later became the wife of Kyle Larson.
Earlier in the year, the NASCAR Cup Series driver piloted his Chip Ganassi Racing machine to victory lane at Dover International Speedway. While in victory lane, Katelyn shotgunned a beer.
Unaware to her, this was captured on film. Of course, it went slightly viral.
And that’s the back story.

Fast forward to the award show, the moment was re-lived. As they discussed the moment, Katelyn sat looking beautiful and classy in a shiny green dress, Busch beer in hand.
She opened the can (or pretended to) and proceeded to shotgun the beer at the Awards table. The crowd cheered her on.
Of course, the can was mostly empty. We know, relax.
The before mentioned millionaire drivers would not be thrilled to have their fancy suits sprayed as the top was popped on that beer can.
It was pre-opened. There might have been some beer in there, maybe non at all. But, that’s not really the point at all. It was still a neat moment.
The moment was knocked by some of twitter as, “not classy.” Those are exactly the type of people who need to shotgun a beer more than anyone.
