Here’s a look at the playoff cutline and regular season points with just 3 races before the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs begin
There’s only three more races in the regular season for the NASCAR Cup Series. 16 drivers will transfer into the first round of the Playoffs.
Next weekend, the NCS field will run two races at Dover International Speedway. In two weeks, the regular season will conclude on the 2.5-mile oval at Daytona International Speedway.
Jimmie Johnson is on the outside looking in. Johnson tested positive for the Coronavirus serveral weeks ago which forced him to miss a race.
Johnson has been climbing through the playoff grid ever since. This weekend, he heads to one of his best track for two races.
10 drivers are locked into the 2020 NASCAR Playoffs with a race win: Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, Martin Truex Jr, Alex Bowman, Austin Dillon and Cole Custer.

We also have a battle for the regular season championship which is a big deal heading into the playoffs. This is won by a total number of points.
The regular season champion will be handed a 15 point bonus heading into the playoffs. The top 10 in points will be handed a bonus with 2nd getting 9 bonus points and 10th receiving 1 bonus point.
