Busch Clash practice at Daytona International Speedway
Today, the NASCAR Cup Series turns their first laps of the 2020 season. Daytona International Speedway is set to kick-off Speedweeks at the 2.5-mile oval.

The Busch Clash at Daytona is an exhibition event. 2019 season pole sitters, 2019 Playoff drivers, former Daytona 500 and Busch Clash winners were handed an invite.

Practice Report
Duration: 50 minutes
This is the one and only practice session for the 2020 Busch Clash at Daytona.
The green is out on the session. Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott, Austin Dillon and Ryan Blaney head out in a four car draft at the drop of the green.
We haven’t seen any large groups to take to the track just yet. Though, there’s only 18 drivers in the Clash field.
24 minutes in, Joe Gibbs Racing is on track all at once. Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr, Kyle Busch and Erik Jones are in a four car draft. All four jump to the top of the board.

22 minutes to go, a decent size pack has formed. Seven cars dice it up. However, they can’t run faster than the four car Toyota group.
13 minutes to go, Jimmie Johnson is on the bumper of his teammate, William Byron. However, Byron’s car wiggles around. We haven’t seen much bump drafting in this session. It looks like the cars might be a bit hairy when they do.
“Once he gets in that pocket on my back bumper, it’s like I got a rudder on the back,” William Byron radio.
