Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 55 (1-55 / 160)

Green flag, Nemechek and Hill run side by side into turn one. Nemechek is late under braking and he slides right through turn one. As he chases it up the banking, Hill drives right by and leads off turn two.

Lap 3, Sheldon Creed has a run on Hill into turn three. He wins the race to the bottom and takes over the lead.

Lap 5, Nemechek is dropping through the field as he struggles to get the power down. Eckes looks under Nemechek, Nemechek shuts the door but his nose is already there. Nemechek is forced out of the groove and he loses another spot.

Lap 25, Creed leads Zane Smith by 2 seconds.

Lap 26, Chandler Smith is up in smoke and the caution is out.

Green, Smith and Creed run side by side into turn one. Smith noses ahead on the inside lane and takes over the race lead.

Lap 36, the caution is out.

Green, Smith clears Creed and takes the lead.

Lap 40, Creed looks inside of Smith into turn one. Side by side for the lead, Creed holds him off.

Lap 41, caution as Jake Griffith backs it into the wall.

Green, Smith drives it deep on the outside and holds off Creed.

6 to go in stage one, Creed looks inside of Smith into turn one. Creed clears him off turn two.

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 55 (56-110 / 160)

Green flag on stage two, Creed and Friesen run side by side into turn one. Friesen wiggles on the inside and Creed holds the lead off turn two.

Lap 59, Smith drives it deep to the bottom and slides Friesen for 2nd.

Lap 65, the red flag is out due to a power outage at the track.

— About an hour later —

Green, Creed gets the jump as Ben Rhodes follows him through on the outside to take 2nd away.

Zane Smith hits the pit lane under green. He has a mechanical issue as the crew has a look under the machine.

Creed drives away from the field. He wins stage two at Gateway!

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 50 (111-160 / 160)

Green flag on stage three, Creed leads on the outside lane as Rhodes takes 2nd.

Big crash on the front stretch! Todd Gilliland turns Tyler Ankrum as John Hunter Nemechek slows in the middle of the track. Several others are collected. Tyler Ankrum, Austin Hill, Jake Griffith and John Hunter Nemechek are collected. Four of the ten playoff drivers are involved.

Green, Creed leads as Crafton spins the tires on the inside lane. Ben Rhodes takes over 2nd. Enfinger’s hood has popped up and blocked the windshield, no caution as he coasts to the pit lane.

31 to go, more trouble for John Hunter Nemechek as he hits the pit lane under green with a flat left front.

20 to go, Creed leads Rhodes by 2 seconds.

5 to go, Tanner Gray has a mechanical issue into turn three. He clips Carson Hocevar, Gray spins and the caution is out.

Green, Creed noses ahead into turn one. Matt Crafton takes over 2nd on the inside lane.

1 to go, Creed leads Crafton by two truck lengths. Ryan Truex slams the wall in turn two.
