35 minutes remain, James Hinchcliffe sits at the top of the board with a 1:09.0611.
33 minutes remain, Alex Palou slides through a high speed corner. He runs wide and comes inches from the wall. The car was nearly totaled but he avoided damage.
29 minutes remain, Colton Herta chases the rear. He runs wide and just barely kisses the wall with the left front. The team thinks they’ve avoided suspension damage.
24 minutes remain, Herta has been sent back on track with a light front toe adjustment after contact with the wall. He jumps right to the top of the board!
23 minutes remain, Scott McLaughlin chases the rear and brushes the wall on corner exit. Light brush with the left rear but the team thinks he’s ok.
13 minutes remain, Ryan Hunter-Reay has pancaked the turn 8 wall while on the hot lap with the softer reds. He hit the inside wall first which shot him to the outside wall. Hunter-Reay is able to drive it back to the pits but his season is over.
8 minutes remain, Will Power jumps to the top of the board by 0.3 seconds.
4 minutes remain, Herta is back on the top.
3 minutes remain, Palou is on a fast lap in the closing seconds of the session. However, he’s forced to lift as he runs down on traffic.
1 minute remains, the red flag is out as Scott Dixon is stuck nose first in the tire barrier.
