NASCAR driver becomes first athlete with a signature collection from Columbia
Bubba Wallace is the driver of the No. 23 car for 23XI Racing. The team is owned by Michael Jordan and fellow driver Denny Hamlin. He runs full time with the NASCAR Cup Series and grabbed his first career win last season at Talladega Superspeedway.
The 28-year-old also serves as a brand ambassador for Columbia. Together, they’ve created a new line of clothing. It’s the first signature brand for Columbia from a professional athlete.
While many of the clothes feature colors similar to his 23XI Racing machine, the line highlights Wallace’s style away from the track. The driver is an outdoor enthusiast who spends his free time as a photographer.
“For me, being a trendsetter while also breaking down barriers and making our sport more inclusive has always been a goal,” said Bubba Wallace.
“The Bubba Wallace Collection, in conjunction with Columbia Sportswear, achieves those same goals from an apparel standpoint. The line is different; it’s bold, it stands out, all while making sure you’re comfortable in your elements. When you’re comfortable, whether it be within your own skin or your clothing, nothing is out of reach.”
Wallace added, “I’m grateful for Columbia Sportswear and the ability to collaborate with them on this line, and I look forward to growing with them on and off of the track.”
The new collection is being announced just ahead of the 2022 NASCAR season opener. The first race of the year is this weekend at the LA Coliseum.
