NASCAR results from Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Today, the green flag is set to drop in Las Vegas, Nevada. Las Vegas Motor Speedway hosts the first of many races on a 1.5-mile track for the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Stage 1 – Report

Las Vegas Motor Speedway - NASCAR Cup Series

Laps: 80 (1-80 /267)

Green flag, Bell noses ahead into turn one with a push from Austin Cindric. Larson holds 2nd.

Lap 15, Larson is fighting a loose machine. Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin drives by, Hamlin takes over 2nd.

Lap 31, the competition caution is out. Bell leads them to the pit lane, Blaney wins the race to the pit exit.

Lap 38, Cole Custer spins on his own, caution.

Green, Bowman noses ahead into turn one. Austin Dillon takes them three wide into turn one outside the top 20. He pushes up the track and clips Justin Haley. The caution is back out.

Lap 50

Lap 50, Bowman, Blaney and Hamlin run three wide for the lead into turn three after Bowman wiggled off turn two. Hamlin wins that battle via the inside lane.

Lap 64, Tyler Reddick spins on his own off turn four, caution.

The leaders hit the pit lane. Almirola takes just two tires and wins the race to the pit exit. Blaney is off 2nd, the first with four. Three stay out, Kurt Busch leads them to the restart.

Pit Penalty: Martin Truex Jr will drop to the rear after an uncontrolled tire.

Lap 70, Kurt Busch wiggles into turn one. Byron and Almirola split him, Byron to the lead.

3 to go in stage one, Bowman has a run on Byron. He clears him on the inside, Bowman back to the lead.

Alex Bowman wins stage 1 at LVMS!

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 80 (81-160 /267)

Two tires for Keselowski and he wins the race to the pit exit. Michael McDowell stays out.

Green flag on stage two, Keselowski and McDowell run side by side for the lead off turn two. Keselowski wins the battle back into turn one.

Lap 91, Hamlin works to the right rear of Keselowski and drives right by on the outside, Hamlin leads.

Lap 93, Briscoe gets loose off turn four after McDowell throws a block. Suarez gets turned by Chase Briscoe down the front stretch. The caution is back out.

Lap 104, Brad Keselowski spins on his own off turn four. Ryan Blaney is collected with heavy damage for both. The caution is out.

Hamlin leads them to the pit lane. Briscoe and Almirola take two tirees and win the race to the pit exit. Kyle Busch and Austin Dillon stay out.

Lap 114

Lap 114, Chastain and Larson split Kyle Busch. Larson gets loose on the bottom, Chastain leads.

Lap 135, Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric spin at the same time in turn four, caution.

The field hits the pit lane. Larson wins the race to the pit exit.

Pit Penalty: Alex Bowman goes to the rear with equipment interference.

Lap 142, Christopher Bell spins off turn two, caution.

Green, Larson and Elliott run side by side for the lead, Larson wins the battle.

6 to go in stage two, Chastain has a run on Larson. He dives to the inside, Chastain to the lead.

Ross Chastain wins stage two at Las Vegas Motor Speedway!

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 102 (161-267 /267)

Cole Custer comes to a stop on the track with an engine issue.

Green flag on stage three, Chastain and Kyle Busch run side by side for the lead. Several laps later, Chastain finally clears him via the inside lane.

50 to go

50 to go, Chastain pits from the lead as green flag stops are underway.

48 to go, Hamlin was grabbing gears and he downshifted instead. Hamlin spins, no caution.

46 to go, Hamlin is stalled and the caution is out. Stenhouse Jr and Ty Dillon had yet to pit. As they pit, Kyle Busch returns to the race lead.

Pit Penalty: Kyle Larson has been caught speeding and he’ll go to the tail of the field.

Green, Kyle Busch holds off Chastain to keep the lead.

33 to go, Martin Truex Jr clears Ross Chastain to take over 2nd. Kyle Busch leads by 1.1 seconds.

20 to go

20 to go, Truex Jr has closed to the bumper of Kyle Busch in the battle for the lead.

16 to go, Truex Jr dives to the inside. He pulls even but he can’t complete the pass. Busch has moved to the top to block that lane.

13 to go, Busch slips off turn two. Truex Jr has a run and clears him into turn three. Busch crosses under him to retakes the lead into turn 1!

3 to go, Erik Jones spins off turn four. As he slides back across the track, Bubba Wallace spins trying to avoid him. Wallace tags the inside tire barrier. The caution is out.

Larson wins the race off pit road with just two tires along with Bowman and Byron. Kyle Busch is the first car to the pit exit with four tires, he’s off 4th.

Green, Larson and Bowman run even into turn one. They remain even into turn three.

1 to go, still side by side at the front! Still side by side into turn turn three for the final time. Larson runs wide off turn four, Bowman noses ahead.
