On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series unloaded at Kansas Speedway. The 1.5-mile track hosted the AdventHealth 400.

During the event, Justin Haley had a wheel come off his machine. He becomes the latest driver and team to be handed a stiff penalty for the loss of a wheel.

New for 2022, NASCAR Cup Series machines are fitted with just a single lug nut. The nut is designed with a pin to engage, preventing the nut from backing off, assuming it’s tightened to begin with.

Per the new penalty system, Kaulig Racing has been handed a major penalty. Three crew members are suspended for the next four races.
