Kevin Harvick gets new NASCAR pit crew after ripping them for errors

Here’s what Kevin Harvick had to say of his pit crew errors after last weeks race; New lineup for Nashville

Last week, Kevin Harvick continued a trend of calling out his pit crew for errors. Now, changes have been made.

On Thursday, Stewart-Haas Racing announced sweeping changes to the No. 4 pit crew. Harvick will see two new members over the wall.

Daniel Coffey will serve as the new front tire changer for the No. 4 team. Additionally, Brandon Banks takes over as the jackman for the team. Both new crew members come from Chase Briscoe No. 14 car.

Tire carrier Jeremy Howard and fueler Evan Marchal remain on Harvick’s No. 4 car.

Shayne Pipala will take over the tire changing role for Briscoe’s team after working with the No. 4. Jackman Stan Doolittle will move to the No. 51 of Rick Ware Racing after previously working with Harvick.

Harvick finished 5th last season as the NASCAR Cup Series made their return to Nashville Superspeedway.

Kevin Harvick vocal on pit crew errors

According to Racing Insights, Harvick’s final pit stop at Sonoma was 22 seconds.

“Our GEARWRENCH Ford Mustang was good. We had our minimum of once-a-week catastrophic failure on pit road and got back as far forward as we could, as usual,” Harvick said after the race at Sonoma.

“It is what it is, I guess. We didn’t finish where we should have.”

He added, “I mean, we took away all of our chances,” Harvick added. “We should have been second at worst but we keep screwing up every week.”
