Landon Huffman vs Annabeth Barnes; Jake Crum arrested (Video)

‘Full throttled by a psycho-maniac’ while under caution; Watch the video of the fight at Hickory Motor Speedway

On Saturday night, Landon Huffman and Annabeth Barnes-Crum made contact at Hickory Motor Speedway. The race at the 3/8-mile track in Newton, NC ended with charges and an arrest.

With 3 laps to go, Barnes-Crum pinches Huffman into the outside wall at the exit of the corner. Huffman then lined up the rear bumper, shoved her into the corner and took the position with a bump and run.

Barnes-Crum attempted to hook Huffman in the right rear. Instead, she spun herself out in turn four to bring out a caution.

Under caution, Barnes drove over the right rear of Huffman’s car. Both cars were heavily damaged in the retaliation.

Huffman detailed the incident via YouTube stated, “As many of you know, this is Landon Huffman, driver of the No. 75. And, I’m about to get full throttled by a psycho-maniac in the No. 12.”

You can watch the video of the on-track retaliation below.

Fight in the spotters stand

Robert Huffman, father of Landon was sitting on the spotter’s stand during the event. After the incidents, Jake Crum, husband of Annabeth Barnes approached Robert in the stand.

The Huffman’s claim that Jake Crum hit Robert in the back of the head and pushed him to the ground. While on the ground, Robert claims he was kicked in the face.

Huffman added, “You can see Crum repetitively try to stomp on my dad, while he’s down. Just absolutely out of control and uncalled for.”

Crum was escorted out. Robert elected to stay in the spotters stand until the end of the race.

Robert was attended to by the track medical team. Blood covered his face as he exited the spotter’s stand.

The Huffman family has pressed charges.

Jake Crum has since been arrested in Alexander County. He’s now out on bail with assault charges filed.

“The car is killed,” Landon Huffman stated after the race.

“Really not a whole lot I can say about that, unexceptionable. I was rolling around Annabeth for 2nd and she squeezed me in the fence off of two.”

“When we got down into three, I laid into her a bit. Knocked her up the racetrack, no harm no foul.”

“She tried to right rear me and wrecked herself. She didn’t hit anything.”

“Then, she comes back out and full-throttles me on the backstretch and kills our racecar. All while her husband blindsided my dad on the spotters stand.”

Ridiculous, that is not how we come to the racetrack and race. If the track doesn’t do anything about it then there’s going to be some serious issues.”

Huffman added, “She’s a total bitch and she’ll always be a bitch.”

After leaving the track, Huffman made a follow up video:

“We have an assault on my dad in the spotters stand, which dad did press charges on and he has been arrested.”

“Also, there’s an issue with her in the racecar, full-throttling me under caution. Is a safety hazard. It’s one thing to mess with me while we’re on the racetrack at speed. Under caution is another thing. But, also when you mess with family, that’s an entirely different thing.”

“We don’t want to go to the racetrack and feel like we’re in danger. We’re out there to have a good time and enjoy short track racing.”

“Things happen, people have tempers. Racing is a full contact sport. But, to do shit like they did in this video is completely uncalled for. It has no place in racing.”
