Justin Allgaier leaks contract extension from victory lane

Justin Allgaier has signed a 1-year extension with JR Motorsports

On Friday night, the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs opened. The half-mile of Bristol Motor Speedway hosted the playoff opener.

With 53 laps to go in the 300 lap event, Allgaier hit the pit lane from the race lead. With 26 to go, Allgaier was already working under John Hunter Nemechek for 2nd.

Soon after, he was pressuring race leader Daniel Hemric for the race win. With 13 to go, Allgaier drove it deep into turn three. He cleared Hemric and took the lead away.

Allgaier drove off to claim the race win.

Justin Allgaier is in a contract year with JR Motorsports. The winner gave a ride to his father and car owner Dale Earnhardt Jr as all three rolled to victory lane.

Apparently, a deal has already been signed but it wasn’t announced until Allgaier himself spilled the beans after climbing from his race winning car…

Justin Allgaier comments after the win

“How cool is it that I got to battle with the boss-man Dale Jr,” Allgaier told NBC Sports after the win.

“This team has done such an amazing job at this race track. Since I started at JR Motorsports, we’ve led a lot of laps.”

“The monkey was definitely on our back. The pit strategy there, coming down pit lane all by myself. That was nerve wracking.”

“Man, we won Bristol. Lets go!”

“I resigned this week to go back to JR Motorsports again for another year. We just haven’t announced it yet.”

“So, y’all are stuck with me for at least another year in this No. 7 car. Just so proud of this team.”

Allgaier added, “I don’t know if this is shots fired. But, it feels awesome going into these next two. We can go and try to have some fun and get two more wins.”

This is Allgaier’s second win at Bristol Motor Speedway. The last win came in 2010 during his second season with JR Motorsports.

The win locks Allgaier into the Round of 8 of the Playoffs.
