William Byron picked up the race win at Texas Motor Speedway. As a playoff driver, he’s now locked into the next round of the playoffs.
Kyle Larson entered the Round of 12 as one of the favorites. However, while battling with Bubba Wallace for the race win, Larson spun and backed it into the fence.
Larson now sits just above the cutline. And he’s heading into Talladega Superspeedway, a track that he doesn’t have a great history with.
Kyle Busch is in big trouble after Texas. Early in the race, Busch was stating on the radio that he might have a flat tire. He elected to stay out and attempt to ride it until the end of the stage. However, the wheel nut came off and Busch found the outside wall, ending his day.
Ryan Blaney was caught in a crash late in the race. He now finds himself below the cutline.
Bubba Wallace nearly grabbed a race win at Texas which would have automatically advanced him into the next round. However, he came up just short of the win and remains below the cutline.
Two races remain in the Round of 12. Next week, they’ll race at the unpredictable Talladega Superspeedway. The round will then come to a close on The Roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Four playoff drivers will be eliminated after The Roval.
