Eddie D’Hondt will not be the spotter for the No. 9 team
Eddie D’Hondt has been the spotter for Chase Elliott for several years. For 2024, Elliott will have a new spotter on the roof.
D’Hondt made the announcement via social media. And it appears that he’s also hinting he’ll be leaving Hendrick Motorsports as a whole.
Eddie D’Hondt comments
“Been a helluva run.. 12yrs, 26 wins, 2020 Champs,” Eddie D’Hondt stated via social media.
“Thank you to: Mr. Hendrick, Jeff Gordon, Chase Elliott and Alan Gustafson.”
“468 races together, 26 wins & a [championship].”
“Lastly, my dude Kevin Hamlin. [Love]”
He concluded, “A career to many, a wonderful lifetime memory, for us all. Excited for what’s next.”
Elliott recently concluded a shoulder surgery. He’s expected to be recovered before the start of the season.
