It’s rare to see any Dale Earnhardt machines in the wild, let alone come up for sale. Richard Childress Racing keeps the vast bulk of No. 3 machines that were used in any on-track action inside his own museum.

There’s been drama when Dale Earnhardt machines have gone to auction in the past, noting they were fakes. However, this listing does not appear to be one of those situations.

This is a rare car that was actually raced by two Earnhardt’s. It was originally raced in the Winston Cup Series by Dale Earnhardt in 1995 and 1996.

Kerry Earnhardt is the eldest son of Dale Earnhardt. He took this very car to the Goodwood Festival and raced the car in the rally.

The car was provided for Goodwood by Richard Childress Racing. At the time, the car remained in procession by RCR.

This car comes from the recently closed Winston Cup Museum.

Not like previous fakes

Back in 2019, inauthentic Dale Earnhardt cars were sent across the auction block. A car claimed from 1994 claimed to be a championship winning car.

Richard Childress spoke up regarding the auction, noting the car being sold was still in his personal museum. There was more than one car heading across the auction which clearly remained at RCR.
