Chase Briscoe is trying to get Tony Stewart to run the Chili Bowl

Could we see Tony Stewart return to dirt midget racing?

Chase Briscoe drives the No. 14 car in the NASCAR Cup Series. His NASCAR team owner is none other than Tony Stewart.

The Chili Bowl Nationals is a famed dirt midget event. The race takes place indoors in Tulsa, Oklahoma on a temporary built 1/4-mile bullring.

Stewart is a two-time winner of the Chili Bowl Nationals. He first won the event in 2002 and then returned to victory lane in 2007.

Chase Briscoe has been racing more on dirt in recent years. And, for 2024, he recently signed a deal with Mahindra to further boost his dirt program.

Stewart recently announced that he’ll be running full-time in NHRA during the 2024 season. He’s filling the seat for his wife as she takes a sabbatical from racing to start a family with Stewart.

But, beyond that, Briscoe would like to see Stewart return to his roots.

“I was talking to Mahindra Tractors the last month or two trying to figure out what we’re going to do,” Chase Briscoe stated as he sat in the broadcast booth with FloRacing.

“They told me about two weeks ago that they’re going to do a little bit more. So, I bought two sprint cars. Ford Performance is helping me out with the motors. I’ll have some good Ford motors, the same ones that Donny runs.”

“I’m excited to get out there a little bit more. I’ll still probably only get in that 15-20 range (of races). I’m going to try and run the midget a little bit more as well.”

Chase Briscoe wants Tony Stewart to drive for him

“I’d love to get him in my car,” Chase Briscoe said of Tony Stewart.

“I’ve been trying to figure out a way to make it happen. I don’t know, he just had shoulder surgery, I think. So, he’s been a little off the radar.”

“If he comes next year, it will feel like slow motion compared to what he’s going to do this year. Maybe I can convince him one day. It will be cool to see him come back to the building.”

“I saw the interview he did where he favorite car and track combo was a midget at the Chili Bowl. You know he likes it, it’s just a matter of getting him back here.”

“Tony was the guy in the modern-era that started bouncing around and doing different stuff. He was my hero growing up. So, I want to try and be as much like him as I can.”

“I bounce a lot of things off Tony. That guy is one of the best guys to have in your corner. He’s always the first guy to answer a phone call when you have a question.”

Tonight, the 2023 edition of the Chili Bowl Nationals will come to a close. Saturday night hosts the $20,000 finale of the famed dirt midget event, Chase Briscoe will be racing in the event.
