NY Racing Team heading to Daytona

Update: Greg Biffle issues statement (Posted Below)

There hasn’t been any announcement from the NY Racing Team. Yet, the team is on the Daytona 500 entry list.

Their hauler has also been spotted heading to Daytona. The hauler is one the bets looking haulers of all-time.

The team will field the No. 44 Chevrolet. A driver has not been announced.

So who’s the mystery driver? Let’s speculate…

As the hauler was spotted, fans have pointed out that a signature on the hauler looks like that of Greg Biffle’s.

Biffle previous raced for the team in 2022. Biffle ran five races for the team that season via Daytona, Vegas, Atlanta, Richmond and Talladega.

The NY Racing Team is owned by John Cohen. The team didn’t run any races in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season.

42 entries are now signed up for the Daytona 500. Only 40 of them will make the show.

Qualifying for the Daytona 500 begins on Wednesday. The famed Daytona 500 will take place this Sunday.

Update: Greg Biffle issues a statement

On Monday evening, Greg Biffle issued the following statement:

“It has come to my attention that images of a hauler and car with my name and signature on the side of it have been released,” Biffle opened in a statement.

“While I had hoped to be running in the 2024 Daytona 500 this year – that will not be happening. Due to unfulfilled contract obligations from 2022 for myself and the team. I have made a hard decision to not participate in any races, until the prior contract obligations have been fulfilled.”

“I wish the team all the best and hopefully I will have the opportunity to race again and win this coveted race.”
