Carson Hocevar wrecked Ricky Stenhouse Jr during Sunday’s NASCAR race at Nashville Superspeedway
On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series raced at Nashville Superspeedway. And will now have one driver who feels payback is coming.
Carson Hocevar had a slight run on Ricky Stenhouse Jr into turn three. From car length back, he drove it deep into the corner under braking.
Hocevar never worked to the inside. Instead, they both dove for the bottom lane. Hocevar drove into the rear bumper of Stenhouse Jr.
Stenhouse Jr was sent sideways up the track. He backed it hard into the wall and ended his race.
Watch the video of the incident below.
This is far from Hocevar’s first incident. He’s built up a bit of a reputation in the garage area. And, retaliation is likely expected…
Kyle Busch is frustrated with Carson Hocevar
Carson Hocevar comments
“I kind of got a run and felt like I was kind of there,” Hocevar said.
“I felt like I was there enough to get a (spotter) call, inside and have him just run the middle. Honestly, he probably could have cleared me, so that’s just what I expected him to do. And he didn’t. And by the time I checked up, I almost spun, too.”
“If he wants to talk, I’ll gladly talk,” Hocevar said. “But I feel like it’s just a product of this, unfortunately. Everybody just kinda tries to get there. There were a bunch of people who got shipped that either didn’t wreck or didn’t get wrecked.”
“But at the same time,” he said, “maybe I could have gotten cut a break too with how big of a run I had. So I think it goes both ways or it could go both ways, and maybe that’s what we talk about.”

Spire Motorsports comments
Jeff Dickerson is the co-owner of Spire Motorsports. Carson Hocevar is his driver.
Dickerson stated via the Door Bumper Clear podcast, “I certainly don’t want to get in car crashing contests out there, right? And Ricky, to me, is a guy like he’s not going to wreck our car.”
Dickerson added, “He’s going to go beat the hell out of him. You know what I’m saying? Which is how it probably should be.”

Ricky Stenhouse Jr comments on Carson Hocevar
Ricky Stenhouse Jr told Amazon Prime after the crash, “A lap or two before, he tried to dive in there from about 10 car lengths back and then that time, I just opened my entry a little bit and he over-charged the corner and drilled us in the rear bumper.”
“I’d say it’s not out of the norm from him, but I definitely wasn’t expecting that at that point of the race. It’s just a bummer for us.”
“Bummed our day ended like that. Definitely will have something to do about it at one point.”
“I think it’s definitely overaggressive. I think that’s Carson,” Stenhouse added.
“Maybe I should have just hung a right, let him go. I’m not sure. If he would have got to my inside, I would have let him go. But just to keep dive-bombing me, you can’t just give up spots just to give up spots. So I felt like it was definitely overaggressive.”
Ricky Stenhouse Jr says Hocevar didn’t call him as of Tuesday
On Tuesday, Stenhouse Jr spoke more on Hocevar:
“Obviously, I’ve been in this sport a long time,” Stenhouse opened via Motorstardom.
“If you make a mistake like that, you generally pick up the phone as quick as you can, especially if you feel bad about it. I mean, if you don’t, you just roll on with it. No, I’ve not gotten a call from him.”
“I’ve talked to his owner. Jeff Dickerson and I are super tight. Yeah, no, I haven’t gotten a call from him, so, to my point, he doesn’t really care about it. Which, you know, is fine.”
“If that’s the ground he wants to stand on, that’s completely fine, but it definitely will be something I won’t forget. You know, if I don’t hear from him by the weekend, I’ll probably confront him, and we’ll figure it out.”

Denny Hamlin comments
“The Amazon guys described this perfectly,” Denny Hamlin stated via the Action Detrimental podcast.
“Like, when I listened to the post-race, I thought they did a phenomenal job of saying and Carl said, ‘Eventually, they’ll be a price.’ You’re gonna be running really well and you can take this to the book: Ricky Stenhouse will absolutely wreck Carson Hocevar sometime in the near future. That’s just a fact. I’d put this week’s salary on it.”
“I’m not kidding you. He ain’t gonna punch him in the face, but he will absolutely wreck him because Ricky’s that kind of guy who is going to feed into people saying, ‘Are you going to get him?'”
“If you’re Carson, just know that it’s coming. So, don’t be surprised. There’s nothing I’m more confident of right now other than Jordan [Fish] having a baby and Ricky wrecking Carson. I just feel that is inevitable. I don’t think there’s anything Carson can say.”
“This is where I think Amazon did a great job. Their analysts said that Carson had a shot to be empathetic to Ricky Stenhouse, who he just wrecked, in an interview and he chose not to. Hocevar said, ‘He could have cut me a break.’ “
“Hold on, this guy is wrecked, on the trailer and you’re telling him he should have cut you a break? It’s gonna come back to him.”
“Carson hasn’t done anything egregious to me, yet, but I guarantee you that if he does, I’m going to get him because he has gotten a lot of people, and they haven’t done anything about it.”
This weekend, NASCAR is heading to Michigan International Speedway.
