Joey Logano confronted Ross Chastain on the pit lane after the NASCAR race in Chicago
On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series raced in Downtown Chicago, Illinois. As stock cars took over the streets, the race ended with a load of contact and drama in the closing laps.
Chicago Results: July 6, 2025 (NASCAR)
With just 12 laps to go, Joey Logano entered turn one trailing Ross Chastain. Behind them, Austin Cindric locked up under braking.
As Cindric spun sideways, he ran through roughly six cars ahead of him. Logano was shoved into the bumper of Chastain.
Chastain was turned backwards, he bounced off the tire barrier and went right back to the gas. Heading into turn two, Chastain lined up the bumper of Logano, skipped the brakes and drove into the rear of the No. 22 car.
Logano was sent forward into Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Both Logano and Stenhouse Jr slammed the tire barrier in turn two.
The No. 22 crew jumped on the radio, “Ross just shipped you.”
Logano responded on the radio, “What the (expletive) is his problem!?”
Logano added, “Ross better get the (expletive) information right before he goes and wrecks somebody! There’s (explitive) six cars behind me wrecking into me. And then he destroys me from four back.”
After the finish, the No. 22 and the No. 1 pulled into the pit lane together. Logano climbed from his car and walked right to Chastain.
Logano yelled and pointed while saying, “It’s on you Ross! Get it through you (expletive) mind. It’s on you.”

Joey Logano comments on Ross Chastain after Chicago
“Yes, he admitted he wrecked me on purpose,” Logano told Bob Pockrass.
“Which to me, he should get fined if he admitted he wrecked someone on purpose. That’s not okay.”
Logano added, “Typical Ross, he just sees red and does dumb stuff. That’s twice a this year, on road courses, at the end of these things that I’ve been cost by Ross. I’m over it.”

History
Earlier this season, Chase Briscoe attempted to turn Ross Chastain at Martinsville Speedway. He missed and instead, Logano was collected.
Logano stated, “And, I’m sick of paying the price. That’s twice in the last three weeks, so that’s the deal.”

Ross Chastain responded to those comments, “Then here [Martinsville], I wrecked him from in front of him? It’s like he’s hearing footsteps when I’m not there.”
“He said on his interview he didn’t want to talk to me, and I’m not going to call him. I don’t need to call him. The whole calling, texting, clearing, it’s tiring at times. So, pretty disappointed to hear a guy like that, his caliber, his experience, just blast that stuff out there.”
