Daniel Suarez says he doesn’t feel important at Trackhouse Racing

Daniel Suarez is leaving Trackhouse Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series

Since 2021, Daniel Suarez has raced in cars fielded by Trackhouse Racing. Since then, he’s picked up two race wins, the only two wins in his nine year career spanning multiple teams.

For 2026, Suarez will leave the team. The announcement was made last week, as both the driver and the team called it a “mutual decision.”

The team currently fields three cars in the NASCAR Cup Series. The entries are driven by Ross Chastain, Shane van Gisbergen and Daniel Suarez.

Now, Suarez is explaining his decision to leave Trackhouse Racing. He notes that he believes there are issues within the team and his voice wasn’t being heard.

“Since my new crew chief came to Trackhouse, he told me a lot of things that he didn’t think were right within the organization,” Daniel Suarez told Bob Pockrass.

“And, a lot of things that needed to be changed. And, I’ve been very vocal with the team, ‘We need to adjust this, we need to adjust that.’ I’m not the only one seeing it. There are more people seeing it.”

“A lot of things happened. Everything happens so slow. I don’t think that’s the only reason, there is more things.”

“I just think lately there have been things that make me feel as if I am not as important.”

“I believe we can run good. But, we’re extremely inconsistent.”

“There is a good amount of people that feel there is still things to work on in the organization. And I just feel like my voice isn’t really heard anymore.”

“When that happens, in my opinion, it could be the beginning of the end.”

“I love Trackhouse. I really wanted to finish my career there. But, a lot of things have changed.”

Suarez concluded, “I just want to find that home again.”

Earlier this year, Pitbull sold his co-owner position in Trackhouse Racing. Now, months later, Suarez has announced his departure.
